I’ll tell you the Chad News First
The more things I want to do, the less energy I end up having to do them.
National Poetry Month and National Poetry Writing Month both started on Monday (I forgot to mention it last week, see links below). I’d like to do more elaborate pieces this year, but I don’t know if I have it in me.
My first pieces for the challenge are dark, and I don’t see an end in sight. In April, I just shoot from my hip and go with my mood. March is such a hard month for me in recent years that my mood starts off as black for a good chunk of the following month.
Go easy on me. I’ll do better this weekend.
Stone Soup Poetry
I loved Linda Carney Goodrich’s feature last week. Read the latest Stone Soup Croutons poem, “Family Binds.”
At long last, tonight we have Rich Boucher kicking off National Poetry Month. Keeping watching my web pages for information about next week’s feature, Mary Ann Honaker.
Oddball Magazine
Click here to read poetry by Chris Collins, Patricia Murphy and Kevin Carey with great visual art by Edward Michael Supranowicz, Thomas Riesner and Jennifer Matthews. We also recommend you check out Glenn Bowie’s poetry and photography as part of our appreciation spotlight on Oddball’s visual artists who are also poets.
Thanks also for Jon Wesick’s satire (it feels so unironically real…) and Eric Green’s contribution to our ongoing Oddball Stories series.
Blessed are our cartoonists Geoffrey Fallon (“The Secrets of Skinny People”) and Anne Skove (“She Who Laughs Lasts”) who get our week started.
Jason Wright showed up with his Jagged Thoughts poem column once again. Our usual Thursday and Friday staples are James Van Looy (It’s All One Thing), Janet Cormier (Bamboozled No More! ) and Bruce Wise (Wise Words). And I think I can guarantee a surprise for Friday.
April Dada
My poem "Kevin Sorbo Watches Baltimore Bridge Fall" has been published over at dadakuku. Thanks to petro c.k. for encouraging this piece and getting it in for National Poetry Month.
Happy NaPoWriMo
National Poetry Writing Month is happening all April. The goal is to average a poem a day for a month. Check my progress here.

Miscellaneous
Check out my website and get a lot of the news before it winds up in this email. Also includes links to my other social media.
Check my blog out for exclusive content and poetry news not related to Stone Soup.
I want one more piece up on Medium this week. It’s a much more serious piece.
Made a TikTok video about a self-proclaimed restaurant. It went badly as I edited it to the point that the video I stitched was muted and I posted it with no hashtags. Had to take a break, but I want to do something soon.
Some more updates coming Patreon later.
Thanks for reading down this far.
