I’ll tell you the Chad News First
I’ll be backing away from Substack soon.
The Nazi infestation has gotten out of control on this site. I realized that was possible when a potential interview subject refused to have any part of Substack. Then The Reframe summed their own reasons for backing down, and I knew it was time.
Like The Reframe, I’ll probably be trying out the Ghost site. I needed a weekend to lament what feels like a wasted year of work on this site. Now I have to get through the next few days and start over. I may not be able to bring everyone from Substack over to Ghost, so I hope you find a way to follow me.
Stone Soup Poetry
Last week’s open mic maintained its high quality. Read last week’s Stone Soup Croutons poem, “Last Request.”
Welcome Margaret Young as she features for us tonight. Good to have features again. And be back next week for Jamilla VanDyke-Bailey.
Oddball Magazine
Click here to read poetry by David Cleofas Avila, Michael La Bombarda and Tom Pennacchini. Thanks to them and visual artists Edward Michael Supranowicz, Bonnie Matthews Brock and Jennifer Matthews. Props as well to Shannon O’Connor for providing us words and photography for her post(?) pandemic piece.
Our cartoonists were in full force on Monday with Geoffrey Fallon (“The Secrets of Skinny People”), Anne Skove (“She Who Laughs Lasts”) and returning Comics Spotlight contributor Dusty McGowan.
As always, Jason Wright leads the charge for poet column with Jagged Thoughts. Stay tuned for James Van Looy (It’s All One Thing), Janet Cormier (Bamboozled No More!) and Bruce Wise (Wise Words)). Will be add more on Friday? Maybe.
